Editing a eulogy
Late at night (for me) and I have just finished transforming my father’s notes into a eulogy for his mother who died yesterday. He will deliver the eulogy I extracted from his draft at a funeral I will not attend as I have two children to look after and all the infrastructure of a family’s life to uphold. While Ed is away, things are even less flexible than at other times. The irony of nurturing a family while neglecting the funeral of another bit of the family is not exactly lost on me, although since I don’t like funerals, I think I’ll overlook the irony in favor of the children’s art class.
