Blackout!
So we had a blackout here in pretty Philly this evening, just as I was finishing the supper. All the lights flared up — and then went out. We survived the hour of darkness with relative equanimity, and imagined ourselves to be hardy, stalwart adventurers, playing games by
candlelight. Of course, another hour or two without the cozy blanket of electrically powered civilization and we might have been reduced to attacking stray dogs for food, like these crazed Russian squirrels did. Thank goodness the lights came back on when they did.

The difference between us and the squirrels is that we are morally confused while they are PURE EVIL. Save the world – eat a squirrel today
But not nice red squirrels…not Squirrel Nutkin!!! Other than that – I have read that it is a little like chicken…
In college, there was one black squirrel on campus, mixed with the huge gray ones. Soon, I noticed he looked a lot thinner than his friends. Then, I noticed he wasn’t anyone’s friend. The other squirrels shunned him. Soon, he was relegated to the South Campus, alone and begging for food from students.
I found him, one morning, walking to class. He had died alone, shivering and clutching his tail. There was nothing more I would have liked than to have swept him up and rewarmed his little spirit.
But some creatures are not meant for this earth.
