Progress (of sorts)
So I’ve been making some progress. The grey and red striped sock is ready for me to turn the heel, which I won’t know how to do until Sunday. At least, I could probably figure it out, but since I’m going to have a nice experienced toe-up sock knitter show me how to do a heel this way (rather than from the leg to the instep) I think I’ll wait.
The other vision of loveliness was brought on by yesterday’s post and the realization that if I didn’t get a move on, I’d never get those present socks knit and that would never do. The Lorna’s Laces sock yarn is really soft. Really. And the toe cast on is so good that I’ve caught myself admiring it which I musn’t do until the second one is safely cast on. No toe-up jinxes here, ta very much. No time for messing around in the Stuntelf Knitting Factory.
Thing is, I quite fancy a nice long bath but am not sure whether I can have one because I can’t knit in the bath.
Or maybe I can…

Tee heeeee!!!!! The sockies look great! How are you feeling about how the colors repeat? I think it looks cool, and the intended recipient will totally dig them.
Concert was tonight, went well. Excellent Walker gave a short speech beforehand, was a total superstar. AND I met your two sisters. It’s funny meeting people who’ve already read your blog, ya know?
THANK YOU for sockies. I can’t wait to see them! Tee! Hee!
I love my word verification: “ohgew.”
Knitting in the bath? Hmmm . . .
Maybe if you can get the water really hot you can felt them at the same time.
I read about someone who DOES do her hand felting in the bathtub while bathing. She says it saves time. I think it might defeat the purpose if you have to bring the washboard into the tub.
I am getting the urge to knit socks again! Is the yarn you use very tough? Only last time I tried, (about a decade ago!) I made the mistake of using ‘normal’ wool, and they holed within minutes of going on the Big Man’s feet…should I use binder twine oh Great Sock Mistress?
fledgling knitter.
