Efficiency
Yesterday in Buffy, a vampire who has created a factory for bleeding humans so vamps can drink describes mass production as “one of humanity’s greatest achievements.” Naturally, this being the ever-so-glorious Joss Whedon (whose Dad, you know, was one of the senior writers for another great program: The Electric Company) you know we’re meant to hear the irony in that statement, a creature of utter evil complimenting our invention of mass production. That’s one of the reasons I love Buffy.
I am not into mass-production, but I love efficiency and as the wedding approaches (Saturday!), efficiency becomes more and more important. Today, for example, I worked so that I wouldn’t have to take work to New York tomorrow. I downloaded a CD of Beatrix Potter for the children so they could listen to something nice in the car. I typed up my father’s speech. I consulted with the non-bride sister about vases and she, goddess that she is, has raided Michael’s for vases. Bride sister and I talked flowers (red tulips, white hydrangeas) in detail since I am now chief flower arranger for the reception. It’s going to be a wild sort of Charlie’s Angels’ flower arranging gig since Excellent Walker and I are going to take off from the ceremony in a fast taxi, beat everyone to the reception and ARRANGE THOSE FLOWERS!
I’ve also managed to find $15.00 shoes which allows me to panic about not looking chic enough in Docs but my knitted top is giving me some serious angst. It still might get pulled out at the last moment, but it’s TOO SHORT even for my short short self. My Boobs of Post Breastfeeding Power are larger in reality than in my imagination, dammit.
Look out for more wedding related posts as the week goes on!

You can do all that in a single day, and still find time to post?! You really are a stuntmother – no one without specialist training and safety precautions should attempt all that!!
hehe agreed your efficiency and ability to relate Buffy blows my mind!!!
Ahh post breast feeding breasts …. they are not what they used to be!!!
The wedding is going to wonderful!
How exciting! Take lots of pictures!
so much going on all at once!
can’t wait to hear

with illegality.
