The End of Thanksgiving
My children are watching SpongeBob SquarePants for the first time ever. Daniel is nearly choking he’s laughing so hard. I’m not sure Helena quite knows what to make of it. They’re perched with their cousins (who brought the DVD) in front of a laptop, in front of a fireplace in which burns a Javalog. I am blogging on a laptop six feet behind them while elsewhere in the house, another child is being put to bed, someone is making tea and someone else is pretending to watch television but is actually napping.
Sounds idyllic, no?
For the moment, it is, not least because the day is almost over. For which I am particularly, especially, very thankful. So for now, let it be idyllic. Let the children laugh. Tomorrow is time enough to write about how today I came to understand quite why I dislike Thanksgiving so much.

In other news (and thank you Fairy for reminding me), on Monday I received a package from a lovely Secret Fairy — who was part of The Society of Secret Fairies exchange. The next one is already closed, but keep your eye on this if you’re interested. These are some lovely lovely bloggers (mostly artists) and the exchange was fun.
She sent sweeties, chocolate, fudge, yarn and ART (the photo doesn’t do it justice at all)! The children are particularly taken with the art. They might have preferred the sweets had I been so foolish as to let them see them. Yum. Thank you Sara.

I’m curious as to why you dislike Thanksgiving. I’m stuffed full of the usuals. All three of my kids are slumbering and I’m headed outside to adult-ville to imbibe heavily. Thank goodness for on site babysitters! I don’t like Christmas, mostly because we’re broke every year at that time … Who am I kidding? We’re always broke. PS. I like your use of “crappity crap crap” on someone’s blog via comments. I can’t remember which blog it was.
Happy Birthday, Sweet Stuntmother!
xoxoxo
Happy birthday to you,
Happy birthday to you,
You look like a monkey
And you live in a zoo.
Love and hugs

ha! it’s my bday too – tomorrow. this doesn’t present a problem in the uk – where thanksgiving is an alien concept, and not solely cos we’re such a bunch of ungrateful whingers. but my sister’s is just before christmas – so i know whence you’re coming.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO YOOOOOOU!
glad to hear that peace appears to be reining – the joint effect of full tummies and spongebob (whom i love for reasons i can’t quite rationalise). long may it last …
Oh it made it – phew! Thats the first thing i have ever posted to America! Glad you like it all – i expect to see the finished result of the yarn ball soon – time to knit!
