Mediaeval Arabs had a practical interest in lions which were by no means uncommon in the deserts and along the rivers. The great mediaeval essayist, Al-Harriri, writes of "THE lion" when it appears in his stories because it was simply the lion the traveller was dreading to meet anyway. But Arabic is short of words for flowers because gardening, for the obvious reason that water is scarce, has not been a popular interest.

Arabs, Mark Allen, Continuum , Lonodn 2006

I propped myself up on an elbow and rubbed my eyes. Jenny was lying on her side, knees pulled to her chest. "The baby what?"

from Marley and Me by John Grogan.

Ok, (laughing) what's the point of this meme?

I just tried it. My nearest book is a weighty tome " Law for Social Worker" -at least you can tell I work in my study! But all page 123 says is Part II Using the legal system... so no sentences at all.

Your reading material sounds much more interesting than mine!
