Goodbye winter
2007 March 26
Good bye winter, with your long cold fingers and red raw nose. Good bye winter and your dark days and long nights. Good bye winter and your insistence on wool shawls and extra socks. Good bye winter and your sad winds crying and the sharp ice sleeting. Good bye winter and the grey dogs howling and the furnaces purring. Good bye winter and your sad storytelling and your dead leaves blowing.
Hello spring. Welcome. Come in.

lovely
Wonderful farewell!
Opening the door, beckoning spring, waving goodbye to winter here, too – for a week, anyhow. There are still some snowflurries on next week’s weather map!
Have you decided on a house? Sold yours?
Today was the first day my three year old was willing to wear her winter hat since November. Yup. Eighty degrees!
what an extraordinary picture! quite lovely
here here!
Aw, nice. Yeah, goodbye winter. We loved ya, but there’s the door.
ahhhh…
that was beautiful.
Lovely, both the image and the language! I just love the 4 seasons. I don’t know what I would do without them.
Beautiful picture, although you reminded me that I really do, truly, hate the cold. I’ll stick with my South Texas after all.
Nice photo… makes me shiver looking at it!
So how’s the home search going?
